From thesis file to defense slides in 4 steps
- Drop your file. PDF or Word (.docx) of the thesis, or paste the abstract and conclusion if the full file is too long or scanned (more on PDF to PowerPoint). Slidy writes the slides in the language of your document.
- Ask for the right length. Choose between 5 and 35 slides. For a 20-minute defense, 15 to 20 slides is a common target (see the timing table below).
- Check every number. Slidy never invents figures: results, sample sizes and percentages come from your text. If a slide needs a figure your file does not give, it shows "XX" so you can fill it in. Edit any text or figure in the browser.
- Export to PowerPoint. You get a native, editable .pptx that opens in PowerPoint, Google Slides and Keynote, so you can add your own charts, lab logo or university template before the day.
