The 10 slides every investor deck needs
Over the last decade, the slides that consistently raised have converged on a 10-slot format. It is not a template — it is a narrative spine. Every great deck answers these ten questions in order:
- Opening hook. One sentence that names the transformation you bring. Not your company name — the outcome.
- Problem. The pain in customer language, with a specific number (hours lost, dollars wasted, error rate).
- Solution. Your product in one sentence, plus a screenshot. No architecture diagrams on slide 3.
- Market sizing. TAM, SAM, SOM. Show the work. Cite the source. Don't bullshit — VCs spot it in 10 seconds.
- Product. The one feature that your 10 best customers cannot live without. Show, don't tell.
- Traction. 4 numbers that compound: revenue, growth rate, retention, pipeline. No vanity metrics.
- Competition. Comparison table. Your defensibility is one of: data, distribution, speed, or founder insight.
- Go-to-market. How you acquire your next 100 customers. Be specific about channel and CAC.
- Team. Why this team ships this company now. Two sentences per founder.
- Ask. How much, for what, over how long. Specific line items, not "fuel growth".
Slidy's AI generates all 10 slots by default, adapting copy to your round size (pre-seed / seed / Series A) and industry. You can reorder, edit, or drop slides before exporting.
